Duct Lining FAQs
We believe trenchless pipe lining is absolutely worth the investment for Evanston homeowners. Considering our area's older homes and established landscapes, traditional pipe repair methods would require extensive excavation, destroying driveways, landscaping, and hardscapes that have taken years to develop. Trenchless technology allows us to repair damaged pipes with minimal disruption to your property. While the initial cost may be 20-30% higher than conventional methods, the savings come from avoiding landscape restoration, concrete replacement, and other property repairs. Evanston's harsh freeze-thaw cycles and aging infrastructure make pipe problems common, and our trenchless solutions create a seamless, joint-free pipe within your existing line that's actually stronger than the original. This new pipe-within-a-pipe resists root intrusion, prevents leaks, and improves flow. For most Evanston residents, the combination of property preservation, durability, and minimal disruption makes trenchless lining the more cost-effective and practical solution.
We provide trenchless pipe replacement solutions that offer numerous advantages specifically beneficial to Evanston property owners. The primary benefit is minimal excavation—typically just two small access points rather than trenches across your entire yard. This preserves Evanston's mature trees, established landscaping, and historic hardscaping features common in our community. The process is significantly faster, often completed in 1-2 days versus the week or more required for traditional methods. This efficiency means less disruption to your daily life and reduced labor costs. Trenchless methods are particularly valuable for Evanston's older homes with pipes running beneath structures, patios, or driveways. Our techniques create new pipes that resist tree root intrusion—a common problem with Evanston's abundant parkway trees. These new pipes have improved flow capacity and fewer joints where future problems could develop. The environmental impact is also reduced, with less soil disruption and fewer materials transported to landfills. For these reasons, trenchless replacement has become our most requested service in Evanston.
We confidently tell our Evanston customers that properly installed trenchless pipe repairs have an expected lifespan of 50+ years. The epoxy resins and liner materials we use are specifically formulated to withstand Evanston's challenging conditions, including freeze-thaw cycles that can damage traditional pipes. Our liners create a seamless, joint-free pipe that's actually stronger than many original pipes and highly resistant to root intrusion, a common problem with the mature trees throughout Evanston neighborhoods. The new liner prevents future scale buildup and resists corrosion from household chemicals and the natural mineral content in our local water supply. Most manufacturers guarantee their trenchless lining materials for 50 years, and industry experience indicates they may last significantly longer. We've been installing these systems in Evanston for over 15 years and have yet to see a properly installed liner fail. For maximum longevity, we recommend annual video inspections and professional cleaning every 3-5 years to maintain optimal performance.
