Cured-In-Place Pipe Repair

Residential Sewer Lining

Cutting-Edge Sewer Line Repair for Chicagoland Homes and Businesses

We can't call ourselves "Trenchless Innovations" if we aren't always innovating. Trenchless Innovations has been the go-to name for cured-in-place pipe repair (CIPP) in Chicago, IL, and the surrounding suburbs since 2002. Our CIPP is a modern trenchless method that rehabilitates damaged sewer lines from the inside — no yard excavation, no torn-up driveways, no landscaping repairs after the fact. A structural liner is installed inside your existing pipe and cured in place, creating a seamless, jointless new pipe that's rated to last at least 50 years.

Whether it's a residential sewer line, a commercial property, or a healthcare facility, we deliver the same practical, no-upsell approach on every job. Every quote is fixed. Every project starts with a real camera inspection. And if you've already gotten a quote from someone else, we'll review it for free before you sign anything.

Cured-In-Place Pipe Repair FAQs

How Does Cured-In-Place Pipe Repair Work?

Cured-in-Place Pipe repair is a revolutionary trenchless rehabilitation method that creates a new pipe within the existing damaged pipe. Every job we run at Trenchless Innovations follows the same four-step process, no shortcuts, no skipped steps.

1. Camera Inspection

Before we recommend anything, we run a sewer camera through the line to see exactly what we're dealing with. Cast iron corrosion, offset joints, root intrusion, hairline cracks, Orangeburg collapse — we identify the actual problem and the actual repair length. If a full liner isn't the right answer, we'll tell you (and point you toward the right fix, whether that's a spot repair, epoxy coating, or something else entirely).

2. Cleaning and Prep

The existing pipe is thoroughly cleaned of buildup and root cutting is performed where needed. A liner installed over debris will fail. This is the step most contractors rush; we don't.

3. Liner Installation

A flexible liner saturated with structural resin is inserted through an existing access point (cleanout, manhole, or minimally invasive entry). No excavation is required in the vast majority of cases. The liner is then inflated to press firmly against the existing pipe walls.

UV Curing

We use UV light to cure the resin, which is faster, cleaner, and more predictable than older heat-cure methods. Once the resin hardens, you have a seamless, jointless new pipe inside your old one — structurally sound, corrosion-resistant, and rated to last decades. A final camera inspection confirms the finished result.

Why Homeowners and Property Managers Choose CIPP

CIPP repair beats traditional dig-and-replace on nearly every measure that matters:

  • Your yard stays intact. No trenching, no torn-up landscaping, no driveway replacement. The single biggest reason homeowners choose trenchless.
  • Lower total cost. You're not paying for excavation, hauling, or restoration on top of the pipe repair itself. Fewer trades on-site means a cleaner invoice.
  • Faster completion. Most CIPP jobs are done in one day. Traditional excavation can stretch across a week, longer if weather or utilities complicate the dig.
  • 50+ year service life. Once cured, a CIPP liner is stronger than the original pipe and rated to last at least 50 years. It's a permanent repair, not a patch.
  • Better flow than the pipe it replaced. A smooth, seamless interior — no corrosion ridges, no offset joints, no root intrusion points.
  • Works on nearly every pipe. Cast iron, clay, Orangeburg, PVC, and concrete. Residential laterals, commercial mains, and everything in between.
  • Environmentally cleaner. No excavated soil hauled offsite. The resins we use are formulated to meet current environmental standards.

Ready to Talk About Your Sewer Line?

Sewer line problems don't fix themselves, and they rarely stay small. The sooner we get eyes on the pipe, the more repair options you'll have — and the smaller the number at the bottom of the quote.

If you're seeing slow drains, sewage smells, wet patches in the yard, or repeated backups, it's time for a camera inspection. If you've already had one done by another contractor and aren't sure whether the recommended repair is right, send us the video for a free second opinion.

We provide CIPP sewer lining across the Chicago metro, including Chicago, Evanston, Highland Park, Naperville, Schaumburg, Palos Hills, Elgin, Inverness, Glencoe, Olympia Fields, and our home base in Crete, IL — along with the entire surrounding service area.
